Japan, Day 5

Kamakura: Engaku-ji, Tokei-ji, Enno-ji & Kamakura Daibutsu
Tokyo: Shibuya

A close up of Emma. Note that the head seems to be a little too big for the body. Lightning used to cause many fires in Japan. Before modern methods of fire fighting came along, when a fire broke out, the monks of the temple would take great pains to protect what they could. In Emma's case, the monks wrestled the head from the body to preserve it in one such fire. After the fire, Emma's next body was carved a wee bit under scale for the head.
